Book No: 11 of 13
Slither is not human. Far from the Spook-protected County he preys upon humans, sneaking into their homes to gorge upon their blood while they sleep.
When a local farmer dies, it’s only natural that Slither should want to feast on his lovely daughters. But the farmer has offered him a trade: in return for taking the younger girls to safety, Sltither can have the eldest daughter, Nessa, to do with as he wishes…
Slither’s promise takes him and Nessa on a treacherous journey where enemies await at every turn. Enemies that include Grimalkin, the terrifying witch assassin, still searching for a way to destroy the Fiend for good.
“I did not reply. Nessa’s future, or lack of it, was not worth debating. I had not told her just how bad things were. The odds against me were indeed great, and I would probably be taken and killed, either on the journey or immediately upon entering the city. It was unlikely that I would live long enough to make a successful plea to the ruling council.. If I died, the three girls would become slaves at best; at worst they would be drained of blood and eaten.”
“But one thing puzzled me. I say Kobalos and I saw chained human female slaves, but why did I not see any Kobalos females? Were they not allowed out in public? The faces of the Kobalos were all hairy and bestial, with elongated jaws and sharp teeth. Could it be that Kobalos females were similar to the males in appearance and I simply couldn’t tell the difference?”
I have a question about slither, does he die in the Starblade chronicles, and if not will he ever return?
He does return, eventually!
